For the next few days of this project the focus is on composition, and today the theme is the compositional technique called rule of thirds. The rule of thirds is a technique which involves the layout of the subject of the photographs, usually in a grid method, a grid method that contains nine squares. For this shoot I traveled to the beach with the aim of trying to capture different components of beach with rule of thirds in mind. I wanted to capture the sea and the drama which it poses as well as features that can be found in the sea when you go to the beach. In addition, my main editing decision involved making these images black and white and by doing this it helps highlight all the features of the water and overall it this edit just makes these photographs more dramatic and eye-catching. I think that these images are successful because I believe that my editing compliments the nature of the beach and the sea and I think I successfully used the rule of thirds technique.
