Today's theme was depth of field, a compositional technique that helps make the main subject of the photograph stand out from the rest of the image. A photograph has a foreground, middle ground and background and for the depth of field technique it involves making either one or two of these being blurred out to highlight the focus of the photograph. For this shoot I decided to take photos of flowers and more specifically of the pansies that I found in my garden. I chose to take photos of only these pansies because they all have their own unique pattern and all have beautiful colours and unusual shapes; in addition, I wanted this shoot to have consistency which I achieved by only taking photos of pansies. To edit these I just highlighted the natural colours and just made the main flowers more vibrant so that they would make the photos more dramatic. I believe that I successfully implemented today's theme into this shoot.
